I don't, because so many atrocities and disasters have taken place throughout human history, and honestly, it's a little creepy to believe that there's actually a guy up there looking down and letting all this stuff happen, or doing nothing about it. I think about what I would do if I were God, and the list is endless. I'd clean up all the disease in Africa, stop wars, end hunger, keep innocent people from dying... there's so much you can mention. People always say, "Well, God allows all that for a reason!" Well, his reasons don't satisfy me. Maybe they satisfy other people, but not me.

I believe in God because for many reasons. The first and foremost it that when I talk to Him, a beautiful peace comes over me that is attainable in no other way.
Secondly, when I look around at the beautiful world we are in, and at the universe surrounding it, I do not see how it is possible that it all happened in on collosal accident. God has put us in a place that is so immensely large, yet at the same time so unbelievably intricate, it boggles your mind and leaves you speechless when you think about it.
Thirdly, as someone has already posted, the prophecies in the Bible are coming true. I believe that Revelations was not written to be taken literally, and that all those strange illustrations are symbolizing people and events that were, are, and will be.
As for your judging problem, that is a problem with Christians, not Christianity. We should not judge others, but we should do our best to show them Jesus- the way, the truth and the light.
Please consider this in your heart- talk to God, and He will listen.
That's a promise from both of us.

I know it is long but plz read it through. I personally dont judge goths (I went goth for one day to see what its like...) and I know you might not believe me but there is always room for new Muslims (goth or not!:-D cuz God doesnt judge my looks). I could talk all day about the beauty of faith but this time I'll be logical :-D
Faith is an important component of belief but I also believe that through logical explanation and science more eveidence indicates the existance of a higher, more intelligent being (God). Beyond obvious natural miracles such as; bees and ants building complex societies, the perfect position of the sun in distance to the Earth etc. There are some more unexplained phenomenas that are so unlikely to have spontaneously ocurred, that the most logical explanation is God. Let's look at the creation of the universe (big bang)...scientists can date the universe back all the way until10^-43rd power of a second, in which time the universe is unaccounted for. Something MUST have triggered the bee bee sized compact galaxies to expand. Another miracle is that of protein strands consisting of polypeptide chains. These chains harbor 500 amino acids in an EXACT correct sequence. The chances of this ocurring naturally in nature is 10^950! Science claim 10^50 nearly impossible. These facts helped me in determining my own principles; it takes alot more "blind faith" to believe we somehow spontaneously "happened" (10^950 chance) than believing in a supernatural power (God). Thanks for reading. Plz stay open-monded! :-D

First of all I do believe in God. Why? Because I choose to and the promises that God has made to me if I do are quite wonderful. Secondly, your last question is not true. I am a Christian and don't believe in judging people because I am not the judge...God is. It is not my place to judge but to love all people good and bad and pray for the lost and their salvation. But I do ask this to you, what is goth? As in Gothic? That was a time period anyway. Or are you of a particular belief that conflicts or hates God? Either way I'm not going to judge you now or ever. Your maker will do that, as he will all of us. I just ask you not to judge others either. Fair enough?

I believe in God, because He is the way, the truth and the life. First off, people shouldn'y judge others (JAMES 4:12- "There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you- who are you to judge your neighbor?") I can understand why peope would judge goths, with the idea that goths "worship the devil". I'm sorry that you hate God. He has done wonderful things, but the Devil has closed your eyes to it. I pray that god will not let your heart be stubborn and that you'll accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. God Bless.

I have spent more of my waking hours trying to make sense of my belief in God and the after-life than probably any other subject. After dozens of years, I have narrowed it down to this:
Why not?
I truly believe that it is man that has twisted the concept of God. People who judge others (goths included!) are not truly following the path God would intend.
When you look at any organized religion in the world, particularly the major religions: Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and the Muslim faith, you'll notice that they all teach certain principles. It is those universal truths that God intends for all of us. The clash of religions, the condemnation and judging, and all the reasons that drive people to condemn God are actually the sins of man.
Dont' hate God for the cruel and despicabble nature of humanity.

I believe in God because I can. I don't judge Goths, first of all you don't have to be an atheist to be Goth. Second, if Goth was around when I was in school I probably would have embraced it. Why do you put all people who believe in God in one judgemental basket?

We Christians are not suppose to judge, Only love the person, but hate the sin. I love you and I let GOD do the final judgment judging ( Although I do form opinions about what I see, cause what I see is what I judge!! It is true that people do judge a book by it's cover and not it's content

Yes I do. The reason is that I see his work everyday in my life.
I don't judge goths. I actually used to be one! Then I decided that though I still like the look, it was making people think badly of me, and a Christian shouldn't give the appearance of evil. A lot of people automatically think "EVIL" when they see the goth look.

how can you hate something you do not believe in?...you stated you do not believe in him...but then spewed off how much you hate him..does that really make sense to you? Just a question for you to ponder...You asked a question to why do I believe in God..I always have..I just knew there was a God when I was young..BTW I was not raised in a Christian home..but I always believed in God..thought of him like a genie in the bottle type God to give me my every wish..found out that was not true so I did not go to church I partied and did my own thing for a very long time and then He showed me the error of my ways and he showed me his grace and mercy to save such a horrid of a person that I was. But I have always believed..even if I have not always obeyed.
