its hard to describe in words...

though knowing you the first thing you feel is a deep connection to the land and its rich cultural/religious history.

when you walk in to the old city of Jerusalem and you see the excavated portions you can imagine people for over three thousand years walking in the same area you are. Thinking about the every day normal events and also the violence that constantly plagued the area in history. You can see it in the walls, in the land and in the very people that live their. It truly is a living history that only gets richer and more developed with the passing of time.

Fantastic! We were there in 2004 just when tourists were starting to return. Everyone thanked us for coming. We spent 8 days in Jerusalem with day trips to the Galilee, Masada, and Ein Gedi. Don't miss the archaeological dig at Bet She'an.

The South Wall excavation and Western Wall underground are not to be missed. Many beautiful tiles remaining in pools and mikvehs.

We're planning a trip with the congregation next May.
