No, thank god... If either of my dogs could figure out how to open up the fridge, I'd have no food left by the time I got home from work... they are such little scavengers... You're dog sounds so smart, You should train him to lift the toilet seat, and use the restroom like a person, how funny would that be?

Yep. My dog use to do that. But, she would shut the door after she was done! I would come home and the fridge would be closed, but there would be the contents all over the house!
I bought a baby gate and tried to lock her out of the kitchen, but she would either jump it, or knock it down.
When my hubby brought home another dog, she stopped all her bad behavior. I think she was just lonely when we were gone.

You have a very smart and talented dog! Do you perchance leave dish towels strung through the handle of the fridge? Assistance dogs are trained to pull on towels placed like this to help their owners open the fridge.

No fortunately my dog hasn't worked out how to do that yet, but she has gotten into my bin a few times, it's one of the ones with the pedal you push to open the lid and she figured out the if she stood on the pedal the lid would open and she could eat my garbage (ewww!) i just hoping the fridge isn't next. lol
good luck
xx

My siberian husky can, the sliding glass door too, and almost every inside door in the house. We put a very high baby gate up, because she also opened the pantry once and ate all kinds of things. If I'm going to be gone for too long though I crate her because I know she can open the baby gate.

i used to have a german shepherd that did this when i left her alone while i was at work. what she didn't eat would usually go bad. somehow, she even got the freezer door open. it was the middle of august and when i came home, there was a big melted mess on the floor. she just sat there looking all proud of herself. that's when i started duct-taping the doors shut!!

I have known a couple people whose sighthounds could open them. One put a padlock on it, the other duct tape. And some people think SHs are not smart! Ha!
