It means to become aware of the self. When one is able to observe the self one can consider it a process of self actualization.

Self actualization happens after a long process of knowing and excepting yourself. Once you look into the " window" of self and learn all that you can, you are ready to go on a journey of acceptance. This is a long hard road. I'm sure that many never truly find the end of the road. Many are not even aware that there is a road. Accepting yourself because you have become the person you wanted to become is when you truly are self actualized. The fact that you asked this question, puts you on that road already. The trick now is to stay on. You will probably be very old and undoubtedly wise by the time you reach your destination. Maybe I shall see you in passing on that very road. Good luck on your journey grasshopper....?Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

self actualization this is the ulimate in potential. although only 1 to 2 percent of todays population actually get this far. here are some traits of it- accept themselves and others, and accept imperfections,
are self motivated, rather than eternally motivated, are problem solvers, rather than complainers, have a strong set of values by which they live, and are ensitive to ehtical issues, believe the power of people, holding that most basically good, are at peace with them selfs and the world. these people i am describing may have had "peak experiences" this is where spiritual or religious experience helped to clarify their place and purpose in the world.
