have to be a test. At least this is what I have heard being raised Catholic. "You are being tested everyday by God." If God knows your life and the outcome of it. What is the purpose of this?

I think saying something like that is a mistake. First of all, it makes someone nervous. God is testing me? On what! What if I fail! Which of course is our first thought; if He's testing, I'll fail.

Not all things are a test. The bible does say that out of our trials, God is perfecting us....our trials in this life can lead to perseverence, character, hope. It's true that God knows everything that we will ever say, do and think. But most importantly, God loves you. This verse in Jeremiah says in essence His thoughts towards us: "I know the plans I have for you; plans to prosper and not harm you, to give you hope and a future". God desires good things for us, He wants to see us succeed at life. That is why Jesus came, to give us life, and that abundantly, and when we die, to give us eternal life.

God isn't testing you to see you fail. His desire is to purify you, to refine you, into pure gold.

God is only according to what u have been taught.

As far as I am concerned I do NOT live to be tested by God or any other being unless I have myself submitted to the test.

Purpose of life is the journey of life itself.
We all know we live (happily/unhappily), get old, fall sick, suffer and die.

In the meantime think and do good without harming urself and others.

Looking at a destination, purpose, objective is self defeating because then what!!! Just enjoy the ride.!!!!

Scripture says that God allows us to be tested so that we may be strengthened and purified, "as gold is purified in fire". Yes, God does know all the details of your life, and the lives of your descendents 500 years from now because being outside of time He has already seen all of those events take place. But you don't know the final outcome of your life, and therefore you must persevere and grow in your relationship with God. That's why He allows us to be tested, for our own good, for our growth in faith. But Scripture also says He will never allow us to be tested beyond our ability to endure.

God does not test you. You decide to come into this life. Then you are on your own. Your destiny is not predetermined. Than there would be no purpose. All that stuff in the bible was right out of the imagination of men. God is way above flooding the earth or demanding you accept Jesus or anything else. We come with our own purpose. I hope that I am fulfilling mine and learning what I wanted to learn by coming here.

God is spirit. God is love. So where does it says that everyday God is testing you?

If you do a word study using "test", you will find 31 verses talking about test, none of them talking about everyday testing.

Now you can understand why Luther has issues with Rome.

I'm not Catholic, but I believe that the "test" is intended to reveal something to you, not God. God already knows who you truly are, you do not. The test is supposed to show you the areas of your life that you need to work on.

God tempts noone LOVE. WE are led astray by our own
desires. The only ones tested, are those who seek, as they
say, a BETTER resurrection. Because God don't want nobody
who's going to PUNK OUT on Him!
We will go through a period of suffering in the times ahead.
So that God can purge us of all the pain and resentment,
(negative spiritual energies), we hold within. Because them things just can't exist in HEAVEN!

God is testing you because if life went peachy keen you'd have nothing to talk to him about or cast sadness on him and your relationship with god would stay at the same level all the time. but instead when trials come your way your suppose to be in pure joy as it says in James because that strengthens your relationship with god.

Living in a World that has been corrupted by satan, sin and the curse isn't a test. It is more like hell.
When GOD puts you through a Test and you Pass, you don't have to take That Test anymore.
You Passed!

It's the less painful way of saying, "your on your on my child", the world test you everyday to see if your stupid enough to go to work and live in death, meaning live as you are told and not rebel, that all things come from God except money because it is the root of all problems and invented by man, to hold you in bondage
