I had my cartilage pierced for 8 months now and tomorrow I have a soccer game we can't play with jewlery and I was wonderinf how long can I keep my earring out of my cartilage b4 it closes?

it takes years before it would close. only when you have it pierced do you have to keep it in for a few weeks after that you can take them out for months and nothing will happen. I have my ears pierced for years and sometimes take my earring out for weeks. I wear three earrings in each ear. just make sure your hands are clean when you put them back in

It most likely will not close up if you take the piercing out for a soccer game but it may shrink a bit and you might have to stretch it some to get the piercing back in. If you'll have to take your jewelry out again and again for games, I suggest getting a retainer (a clear or skin toned ring or barbell) to put in the piercing during games. They are hard to see and will keep the piercing open to the perfered size until the game is over. Good luck with your game, and your piercing!

I really wish I could help you on this one because I have had my nose pierced and I had minor surgery and the anesthesiologist made me remove ny nose ring. Although I had it pierced for a number of years, it is soft tissue and I couldn't get the nose-ring back in it. Now I have a hole in my nose because no one in my area will do a nose piercing any more. Maybe you could put a piece of straw (like from a broom) in the hole just to keep it open after the soccer game. I can tell you that cartilage will begin to close faster that fat tissue. Good luck!

a soccer game wont do any damage nothing to worry about. with 8 months you can leave it out a decent amount of time. i wouldnt go over a day though. my sister does it all the time. but before you put it back in make sure to clean it!

i didnt wear my earring for 8 hours a few days after i got it pierced and it didnt close. u'll be fine. just wash up before u put it back in.

Just be sure to wash the area & put in the ear-ring after your game. You'll be fine.

It won't close but you might want to wash your hands and put it back in immediately after the game.

YOU CAN TAKE THE EARRINGS OUT AND WON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. SOME PEOPLE CAN LEAVE THEM OUT FOR WEEKS AND MONTHS AND STILL GET THEM BACK IN. I HAVEN'T WAITED THAT LONG HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD GAME.

if you have had it for 8 months now, it is pretty much healed up so you will be fine for a day, lucky you that piercing worked for you i had mine pierced twice and it never healed.
