A friend invited me to go with her but I have no idea what to do?

You pray.... If you do not feel comfortable using the prayer book, you pray from your heart. You can also watch to see what goes on, especially if this is your first time attending. Any prayer book (reform, conservative, orthodox) should have explanations and prayers in English that you can follow and read. If you want to get some more backgroung on the prayers and/or Jewish holidays, these are the best (most comprehensive) websites:

Just be yourself, and be respectful of everything that goes on.
Try to feel comfortable in the surroundings, people are always nice in synagogues.
& don't wear jeans, wear nice attire (skirt, dress pants, nice shirt, ect.) nothing too fancy

Pray or just watch and keep your mouth shut. No seriously when in doubt ask your friend before hand what to expect so you won't be too lost in the goings on.
