It sounds as if he's trying to make you interested so he can turn you down since he's already taken. It's an ego booster to have another girl want him besides his girlfriend...

He could but he also could just be trying too get in your pants. you said he has a girlfriend well find out more information. like does he like you (but don't let him know you like him) then either wait for him (how would you like it done to you) don't steal him away. Cause it will probably cause problems.
