No, some people hide their emotions well, while others just dont. You can tell by their lifestyle, they sleep alot, dont eat, etc.

I don't think you can tell just be looking at someone. You could probably tell by talking to them. If they don't enjoy doing the things that they use to do then they might be suffering from depression.

Sometimes you can sometimes not...some of the seemingly happiest people I have met are seriously depressed underneath and some of the most depressed looking people look that way from lack of sleep due to a new baby etc...do not rely on looks only..

It is harder to detect depression just by looking but I can usually tell as soon as they speak even if they are trying to hide.I guess I see it so fast because I spent most of my life hiding my feelings and other people did not know there was anything wrong. Now that I've had help solving them I can see it in others quicker.

yes. if u see a person who is sad everyday, walks really slow with their head down, tends to be by themselves, and doesn't talk much. but there are some people who are so depressed that they learn how to hide it and pretend things are ok.before i even know i was depressed, alot of people would ask me if i was ok or if im bipolar and ****.
