i take it for the same thing and it works great. Of course, it depends on the person.
Here are some possible side effects:
The most common side effects of sertraline are sleepiness, nervousness, insomnia, dizziness, nausea, tremor, skin rash, upset stomach, loss of appetite, headache, diarrhea, abnormal ejaculation, dry mouth and weight loss. Important side effects are irregular heartbeats, allergic reactions and activation of mania in patients with bipolar disorder.
If sertraline is discontinued abruptly, some patients experience symptoms such as abdominal cramps, flu like symptoms, fatigue and memory impairment. Although this reaction is not well established, it is reasonable to gradually reduce the dose when therapy is discontinued.
Also, I had the side effects for one week when i first started, but then i was fine
BEST OF LUCK

I would say that zoloft would be much safer and have much less side effects than lexapro. You might have dry mouth initially but other than that after the 3-4 weeks it takes to get into your system, you should be fine. However on the other hand it depends on the individual if it is the correct dosage and or drug period. It may not make a difference at all. That said I see nothing wrong with giving it a try...good luck!

I have been on Zoloft for over 8 years with ZERO side effects.
Also I have a very small dose Xanax for when I get an anxiety attack. I too do NOT like the way certain pills make me feel and refuse to take them. The Xanax helps a lot but I only take then when absolutely necessary.

I have been on zoloft for years now and have had no side effects. I, too use xanex when I have the anxiety attacks, which are usually at night. What I like about it is I wake in the morning and dont have that drug out feeling.

I've been on Zoloft and Trazadone together for about 5 years now. I've had no side effects at all.
