Many people have genes in their body which make them susceptible to any sort of addictive toxic, either that be drugs, cigarettes or alcohol. Many people have these genes coming from one or both parents, and offspring of addictive people, will most likely inherit the trait.

For some reason I felt very sad with your question. I don't really know, but I saw you living among adults who drink heavily and are questioning 'why'. Therefore, I will give you a reasonable answer instead of being witty. Serious drinking (apart from small social drinking) is used as an escape. An escape from the pain and tension of living. A lot of people are simply unhappy and find no solace in their life. They drink to escape the reality of what their life has become. There are many more complicated answers that can be given, but this is a start. For you, I hope you stay away from alcohol since you see its negative impact.

Some kids are addicted too. More adults are because we can get it more readily.
It's a form of escape from the stress of everyday living. Your mommy and daddy take care of everything for you and that's not an easy task.
You will understand when you grow up and have to face the ups and downs of life. Some peoples lives have a lot more down than up.

not all adults are addicted to alcohol . . but the ones who are mostly tend to use alcohol (or other drugs) to escape or get away from the reality of life . . . they can't handle the stresses of life, or they have had some type of traumatic experience and drinking is the only way they know how to deal with it . . .

Once you reach a certain age and learn to spell, you realize that you have way too many brain cells and you should drink them away.

I think they are addicted to that beacuse they get very tired and wish to be relaxed.

i'm an adult,and i never drink,cant stand that nasty,burning feeling.drank iced tea at my wedding last year,instead of champagne!
