Lets see... pretty much everybody has covered this... Hitting yourself repeatedly in same place with force. Using blunt objects to hit yourself with. Pinching can cause bruising.. Run into things...

Ha! That's funny because I bruise so easily that people probably think I get the crap beat out of me. Some people simply bruise easily. Throw clumsiness into the equation (I am known at work for falling UP the stairs and running into doors with my face) and you can get pretty banged up. Some people need serious injury, some just need a slight bump. I'm of the slight bump variety. Doing it on purpose though? All for attention? Ruthless. What an idiot.

Self-inflicited bruises, cuts, etc. are done by physically infliciting pain through pinching oneself, running into walls to cause bruises, etc. This young person is what we call a self-abuser. She is not doing it because she wants to but rather because she is in great pain emotionally. She is not crazy but she does need help immediately. She causes herself pain to mask emotional pain. Doesn't make much sense but it happens. Hope this helps.

It's horribly sad, but you'd be surprised how many girls do hurt themselves. Some punch themselves until they get bruises, burn themselves, and some cut themselves with razors or even mechanical pencils. There are any number of ways.

Your question is self answering. If they are self inflicted, she is hitting herself or bumping walls or furniture to get them.
Yes, it's definitely crazy. That is the kind of thing that can get you committed. A friends granddaughter (14) is a cutter and she had to be committed to save her own life.

It's self explainatory in the word self inflicted meaning she did it to her self you know the same way people slit there own wrist.

I give myself bruises all the time. I'm clumsy. Then there are children like my son who thinks it's okay to earn a dollar from his friends each time he slams his forehead into his desk. (Yes, he has stopped because I grounded him.)
