I think you underestimate the massive amount of atheists there really are. Oh and by the way, even those of us who are Christian have second thoughts about bringing children into this mess we call life.

I'll give you a clue: There are a LOT more atheists than admit it. Most people don't believe half of what they say they do about God. They just are afraid to stand up in a roomful of sword-wielding Christians and say "You are full of shitake!"
The world would be a much less nasty place if more people were honest with themselves and reality.
Anyone who says "I'm agnostic" is just trying not to get into trouble. When you add up all the agnostics, atheists, Unitarians (come ON!!), Gaia worshippers, Wiccans, and the people who go to church because they are afraid NOT to, and you could have a huge majority of people. Unfortunately, the stigma is controlled by the idea of what is 'normal', and what is 'normal' today is to lie and hide from taking personal responsibility for decisions.

I think that it takes effort not to believe in God because our soul remembers. This world is not all nasty. We can insulate ourselves to a degree. We can raise our children teaching them the good and the bad. Yet, giving them hope for their life.
To a certain extent, the atheists have a lot less to worry about without the fear of God that some people have. I do not fear God because I do not believe that God created sin or hell. Man did that.

I think there's a lot more atheists than you think. They just don;t feel the need to push their beliefs, or disbeliefs, in everyon;es face :)

I think that is probably a good point. It produces hopelessness and insignificance in an individual I think - but thats just my opinion. Not something I would want to give my kids.

There aren't. I know many atheists, and if you ask an atheist question, lots of people will answer.

I believe that all intelligent people should breed as much as possible, and so I plan to have at least two children if possible. Intelligence should be spread, as should atheism.
