crime is what they know. it is what they were raised with. for some like homeless they use jail as a way to get out of the cold in many states that have harsh winters. it is easier to throw a rock through a window and get 90 days that sleep outside in the cold. they get a bed, 3meals and a heater. can't beat that. being a criminal is easier than being legal.

Well some people are just hard headed, then the ones that really make a change in there get out and cant get jobs and the such and are left with nothing but have to look at people with jobs that have things and people that are doing what got them locked up having things and since they cant get a job guess what they do. Or they get a job and are doing fine and old friends pop up and start to resurface their old habits, kinda like crabs in a barrel, they dont want the one that got caught to get out of jail and end up doing better than them so they try to keep them down and sadly alot of the time it works

Habits are difficult to break plus those in prison are usually poor and undereducated. It is difficult for these people to hold a job due to their lack of education and usually resource to criminal activity in order to survive.

man kind is the only living creature that can adapt to captivity, take a wild animal put it in a cage it will die. humans adapt to easily to their enviroment. and when they are removed they long for that life they had. and they usually return to it. because they where safe they had someone to tell them when to get up when to go to bed when to eat when to shower they didnt have to make any decisions for themselves in there, but on the outside they had to make their own decisions. if they do not watch it they will get lost in no time.

Prison is an improvement for a lot of criminals. Three meals a day, internet, cable, libraries, you name it. All funded by us.

Because they are warehoused, not rehabilitated. They become 'institutionalized' and cannot function in the outside world.
