No. Sadly, that's the only ammunition they have.

Yes, I have found that it is ineffective and a waste of my time and brain power to give them to someone who has no intention on believing them.
If you are asking me why I believe something however, and it is plainly stated in the bible why I should, then don't be surprised if you get one. If you are gonna ask a question, then keep in mind that I bible quote may just answer it! If you don't want that kind of answer, don't ask that kind of question. If I didn't want a scientific answer to something, I wouldn't ask an Atheist why they believe what they believe....It's very much like asking how to heal a broken bone without allowing them to talk about a cast.
I am including a link below from a question that I answered earlier about why christians eat meat even though we preach respect for life....You will note their is not one bible quote in it, but I think I made my point...I think I'm 2nd from the bottom.

It depends on what the discussion is about, some topics are very relevant to the Bible and the best way to explain may be through scripture. And in many other topics one is able to use examples of their own life or others. Plus, most of the things that are in the Bible are known facts, many stories are historical, so not only are they quoting the Bible, but really they are talking about events that actually occured a long time ago.

Yes. I'm Christian, and I can have a discussion, and much rather perfer to not quote the Bible to non-believers or ppl who are just beginning in their Christian faith. I think the truth remains, whether it's in Bible form, or from the words of ppl like Gandhi.. and so, it's not necessary to quote the Bible word for word. The principles in the Bible are really want matters, and it can be illustrated in all forms of examples.

A Christian believes the bible contains all things necessary with regard to leading a righteous, Godly life. Therefore, I take from it, which I believe to be God's word and wisdom, all the guidance I need. His word never returns void, and that is why I proclaim it, when answering questions, especially in this section.
If people don't want to hear about the bible, then they shouldn't ask questions about God...a Christian should always use the bible as the foundation for any explanation or answer.

God's Sovereignty and guy's duty. despite the fact that i'm no longer a calvinist , i think of they're the suitable bible instructors available, and numerous of our church father's have been calvinistic in there ideals. it seems like our reformed brothers and sisters carry a greater physically powerful view of the bible yet with that suggested, that's an in-domicile debate and shouldn't divide us . This debate has been occurring for hundreds of years. God bless

Yes, Christians can have discussions without utilizing quotations from the Bible or saying "I will pray for you."

Yes if the conversation doesn't go into religion or the questioning of our beliefs!! When you start a question "Can Christians...."
then your asking of our beliefs and therefore you should expect
quotes from the Bible. Me, I'm not generally a Bible quoter but if I
was this would be a question for it.

no offence but i think that is a sterotype (i am a christian), to prove your point you have to go back to the source and that is what the bible is.would you ask a science teacher if they can have a disscussion without going to the text?
or a cook to cook without recipe of directions .and christians pray because it is their duty to hold the communitys and everyone in prayer if they don't who will?

No and its damned annoying when all you get back is a load of bible quotes or scripture. I mean why send it to people who don't believe anyway. Its usually an opt out when they cant answer a question, which is most of the time.

Some do. Not all Christians are fundamentalists. But if you live in one of the Bible belt states, it might be difficult to find one. You should go to Europe: a lot of people believe in God there, go to church (although much less than in America), but most don't believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible. It's a bit backward thinking.
PS: I'm an atheist.
