Oh god no.
it would be the church of shallow celebrity-worship and moral hypocrisy.

Has Oprah ever made it know to the World her Religion or Spirituality?
I am not clear on her religious beliefs.
And NO, Oprah should not start her own Church.
However she does have a select faithful few TV viewing audience, that would follow her anywhere.

Far from starting her own church, Oprah should be spurned by society. No public figure, in our current era, has done more to emasculate men, and confuse women than Ms Winfrey. She is the embodiment of everything I despise about the modern feminist movement, and its tendency to want equality, but yet also want the perks traditionally accorded to females in the past. Sorry ladies, you cannot have your cake and eat it too.
If a Church were ever erected to pay homage to Oprah, I would be the first to commit arson. The warmth coming from the dying embers of her church would benefit mankind more than the nonsense she spews from her show everyday.

No, because then she would be expecting 10% of her followers income (like any other church). What could she possibly need it for? If she starts anything, it should be a movement to help end poverty in the U.S., not Africa, cause she don't live there. She needs to put her mouth where her money is already for the vics. of Hurricane Katrina. All she did was a sound bite apparently. The last thing we need is another hypocrite runnin' a church

The Reverand Wright grew to change into into on Fox suggestion this morning, education his anti something different than African American speal, wow, now that's horrifying....those honestly anybody is attempting to divide the country no longer unite it. that's pathetic to know that persons ought to quite vote race or gender than the problem concerns. What, the Church of "All Hail Shoes"? Cool.
Oprah actually does a good job of keeping neutrality in her religious beliefs. Certainly, motivational quotes from every religion is used by her on her TV show, and magazines ... but she graceiously maintains neutrality.
Yes, many of her TV topics are intense & spiritual (death - duhhh) .... but just as many are about shoes, fashion, weight, and other non-spiritual stuff.

She could make a bundle. She already has a multitude of worshipers. But *should* she? No, and I don't think she would.
I've only seen her program twice, but I admire her greatly for the good works she's done outside of the studio.
