Not sure if your a man or woman but I think you have over exaggerated. I don't know what stores you shop in but most people go maybe 10 or 15 items over. How much time does that take an extra 15 seconds to ring the items. Come on life is to short to get so worked up over a few items over 15. Maybe you could take a moment and say hi to the person behind you or smile at the cashier like it's OK I understand. No lets get all worked up over something so simple God forbid something real bad happens like the registers shut down and you have to leave your items and get them the next day. Think about that and maybe you will be able to laugh at yourself for the terrible mood you put yourself in over a few extra moments of your time. Have a great evening or day depending on where you live.

Sorry for the sidetrack, but wow Monika. I feel for the cashier.

As to the people who do this, I think they need to either learn to read or pull their heads out of their rear ends. It helps when the cashiers are willing to stand firm as well.
I know some people refuse to accept the rules apply to them, but sometimes persistance does win out. One time that I worked at a restaurant, a particularly tall woman thought it'd be a good idea to reach over the seperating glass while an employeee prepared the food, so that she could touch the mustard bottle instead of describing it or just plain pointing. Though she resisted controlling herself at first, once she knew she couldn't get away with it, she acted properly. So there is hope.

Well, I'll tell ya this; last time I went shopping I got stuck behind this lady with dozens of boxes of cereal. I had to ask, 'cause I was very angry. I said "who's all that cereal for maam?, this is the 15 item express line. " Oh, I'm so sorry, she said. I have 15 boys and I thought the sign meant for 15 people." She turned and called out loudly "Leroy! We are leaving now." Well, 15 boys of all ages came running from all directions shouting "OK, mom we're coming. "Wait a second maam, I said, you mean ALL of them are named Leroy?, what do you do if you only need one?" She smiled and replied "Why I use his last name, of course." (couldn't resist, sorry.) -- Rat

People shop so it's not like you can do anything about. If you have a problem, just ask if you can go first if you have a significantely less amount of items. People like that should not buy that many groceries because if it's just natural food, it's all gonna spoil. We eat way too many instant, ready-to-go crap in the US.

I hate that! The other day I saw this lady pull a good one. She put up about 100 things and then divided them into 15 items and put them all on seperate tabs!! The clerk didn't realize what she had done until she had already started ringing her up, she looked horrified.

If someone is being that rude, then they deserve to have someone else point it out. Tap them on the shoulder and tell them that they are in the wrong line. Then if you have a cell phone with you, call the store and have the manager come to the checkout line when they're still in it!!!

It makes me so HAPPY. What is even better is when it's a self check out lane and they don't know how to use the scanner and need assistance for every item they scan.

Added bonuses:

-Crying children
-Alchohol, produce, and other products that require assistance to purchase
-lots of coupons, some of which don't scan
-trying to pay with exact change, with all change

I've been known to tap them on the shoulder, point at the sign stating " 15 items or less",and ask them if they know how to read and count.

I think they are rude and unconsiderate people.

i'd grab the nearest glass object and smash it across their teeth, or a more gentle approach would be, (did you not learn how to ****** read or count lady? it says 10 or less, not 120 or more! id grab my stuff and leave. and one more thing that really gets under my skin, when me and my wife are shopping, and then get stuck by the old ladies who want to buy 6 things but need every ****** coupon on the face of the earth! @$%!
