Assuming that you mean milkshake and not smoothie (I tend to think of smoothies as having fruit, whereas milkshakes have ice cream) here is an awesome milkshake recipe. It's not from a site, it's just what I use and it's great! Makes two tall glasses...

Put about 3-4 cups of your favorite ice cream* in a blender. If you like two flavors that you think would taste good together (like Cookies 'n Cream and Peanut Butter), put those in, half and half. Depending on how creamy or not you want it you can then add about a half cup to 3/4 of a cup of milk*. Blend and serve in tall glasses that were in the freezer for about an hour!

*If you are eating lower fat things, try Breyers Light Ice Cream or any other type of light ice cream. Also use skim milk instead of half and half, 2%, or whole because it's a lot healthier. Personally, I use whatever ice cream I have and then always skim milk. It tastes soo delicious! Hope you like this recipe!

1 cup chocolate ice cream or soy ice cream
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
1/2 cup chocolate milk or chocolate soy milk

Combine all ingredients.
Start blending on low speed gradually increasing to high and blend for about 3 minutes.
This can be dairy-free if soy milk and soy ice cream are used!

Basically milk, ice cream and some kind of flavoring mixed up will make a good shake.

Ice cream, half-n-half, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, 1 raw egg, and whatever other flavouring you like (chocolate syrup, fresh strawberries, blueberries, frozen cherries, a little bit of raspberry liqueur, etc.). And no, the egg will not make you sick, provided it's fresh.

Usually, though fattening, whole milk is used. The ice cream depends upon your taste.

If you prefer a malt instead of a shake, add malt powder.
