why wont guys just walk up to a girl, tell her he likes her, and actually mean it, u know so its not like a dare or anything? 10 pts to best answer

because were afraid especially when your with your other girl friends then its just horrifying we may not act like it around our guy friends but when were with you we are shy and dont want to upset you

Guys are most likely afraid of the outcome, what you would say, like if he says he likes you and then asks if you like him and you say no way or something like that, is a big fear. Being rejected would feel terrible to anyone. Also they may not know for sure if you both feel the same way about each other and is afraid that if he said to you that he likes you as more than just a friend it would jeopardize the whole relationship between the two of you, and all the time both of you have spent together, and he really doesnt want to take the risk of losing a best friend, especially if he really likes you and wants to be with you more than anyone else. Sometimes it would just feel like a risk they arent willing to take because they are so afraid of losing the friendship.

Fear of rejection. Seriously, we live in a society where there is a lot of distrust. People think if they disclose their feelings it makes them vulnerable. People who know what they want are willing to risk, though. The best way to get what you want is to ask for it.
Now think about it the other way around. Why doesn't a girl just walk up to a guy .... ? Only the really confident ones do.

Most guys are immature and doing something like this is hard for them to do. They're afraid of rejection.
If they are doing it as a dare, they aren't really interested in you, they're just showing off for their friends.
The best way to get this to happen is to get to know the guy, hang out together, become good friends, THEN if it happens, you'll know that he means it and isn't just fooling around.

FEAR of rejection. Who knows if the girl I want to ask out is interested? Some guys can't deal rejection, it kills off confidence so to say.
I tell you, if humans somehow inherited a psychic ability for this kind of problem, love searching would be less stress.

these are all the reasons i can think of:
1. we hang out with the girl we like and we are afraid to tell her our feelings toward her because we don't want to change anything
2.we are too shy and is afriad of being dissed
3.we are not truley sure of what they will think
4.if she acts different around me when i tell her
5.she will probually be waiting on me to ask her out pretty soon after i tell her and i just want to enjoy being freinds instead of being more
6. some boys will even wait till the end of school so that he can finally tell her and she will probually forget over the summer

anyway, it's a fear of what you'll say. with women that i really like, i have trouble remembering my own name. So, i'll save myself the embarrasment and not even bother. Plus, if I don't say anything - in my head - I still have a chance and I guess that is something to hold on to.

Usually this type of thing comes from young,immature guys who are not grown up enough to do just that.They try to impress their buddies and mess up their opportunities with the girl.

I know I know!! Its called rejection and ego. Simply women do this very same thing. I mean how many women do you know that walk up to a man and straight forward say I like you? This is something that crosses over to both sexes. People are afraid of rejection, of having their ego stomped on and with teenagers especially, they have no idea who they are! So just don't take it to personally!

Some guys are shy, some are afraid of rejection, and some guys think that maybe the girl will come up to them!

Just the same reason girls won't do it.
Can you imagine what it would feel like if you asked a guy if he likes you or whatever and he laughed in your face in front of other people?
Some people are just cruel in that way. So the others just stay away.
