thanks to everyone except toolism, for your advice. I will just pitch it, I have some fresh cauliflower that will do fine in it's place.

It probably won't make you sick, but it likely won't taste very good either. If it's all you have, go ahead and cook it but serve it with a sauce in case it doesn't taste as "broccoli-like" as you'd want.

I eat broccoli for breakfast frequently. I purchase in large bags and use it till it begins to get moldy, even then if the mold is not too extensive I just cut it out. The flavor does diminish as the broccoli loses its green color and turns yellow and I suppose the nutritional value diminishes as well, but it still tastes ok. And smells ok too.

I cook it in the skillet with my sausage grease along with tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, mushrooms. After the veggies are cooked I scramble a couple eggs, then mix in a cup or so of Mexican salsa, the veggies and pieces of sausage and mix it all together then eat it. Don't get hungry till evening. I forgot to mention the jalapeno pepper slices as well, I chop up some of those too and throw in the mix. Others beg my breakfast from me. Everyone loves the concoction.

It will be OK to eat, though may not taste as good. I've had broccoli before it started growing the yellow flowers...it's OK.

I would not eat it. It is over ripe and will not taste very good.
