where have you tried.Asking relatives for information is a good idea,but if you just want to find out for yourself then you can go to a library or a council office,where they may have a microfiche machine that you can look at and trace your birth records like that(it costs nothing to do this).Otherwise try your local registry office and go to the department for births ,you will have to pay for your birth certificate if you do it this way.Hope this helps.

You may be looking in the wrong place. It all depends where you were born. If in Scotland you must go to register house in Edinburgh or in England It's in London. Every country has it's own register of births.

I input my name on the Ancestry site and my details did not come up either, but I got a copy birth certificate no problem - strange that
