If you live in the south (like me!) there's not much you can do about humidity (which puts moisture droplets in your hair causing it to go back to its natural texture state). I own a chi. It costs about $100 but if you're real good friends with your hair stylist then you MAY be able to get a small discount.

My hair too. But I guess because my straightener sucks. =p I don't know if your straightener is a good or not. Good straighteners are expensive, about 100 dollars sometimes 200 but they do work better. Well, you don't want to spend too much time on your hair right? I'd use a good shampoo and conditioner that is for the iron. Then you put something in it before, it will protect it at the same time, like a serum! When your finished, put something on it, like a hair spray. I did that yesterday and it worked. My hair stayed straight all day and my hair wasn't all icky. Hope it works. =]

the BEST hair straightening technique:
1) Wash with a smoothing shampoo and conditioner- I like Matrix Sleek Look
2) Then use Phytologie Relaxing Balm, it's pricy but SO worth it.
3) Blow Dry using a round brush or just blow dry
4) Use Big Curling Iron 1 1/2 in barrel and curl it straight ( I know it sounds weird but it works) or a strightening iron.
By using the curling iron you are using enough heat to really straighten your hair, and it leaves a little curl at the end so your hair isn't stick straight. If you want that look use the straightening iron.

Lots of girls have naturally straight hair. Get a better straightener. I would either get a CHI or Sedu. They are very expensive, but they are better made. If that doesn't work, then I would suggest you either get your hair chemically straightened or learn to work with your waves.

You can go to the salon to get your hair straighten. They use chemicals in your hair and the straight will last for months. Hair straighten can be expensive.

I guess that if you can't keep your hair straight, have you thought about finding a style that makes your curly hair look very flattering? My sister has very curly hair and she attempted to straighten her hair, but it didn't work. Now she styled her hair and it looks fabulous!

You shouldn't use a straightener that straightens it while wet. That is so bad for your hair. Wait until it is completely dry.

That's the one I have and it works great.
