Yes, but you would need to eat several pounds of carrots for several weeks to get this effect.

It's possible, but in adults it's very unlikely. It happens in babies because they eat a lot more carrots relative to their size than an adult ever would. Parents often keep giving their babies the same veggie over & over, simply because it's something the baby will eat. Carrots being a sweeter veggie, it's popular with babies.
The skin would not turn bright orange like a carrot though - even on a baby. You would just get a noticeable orangeish cast to the skin.

Yes, it is true. I learned that from being a parent. My oldest loved and still love carrots. But when she was a baby that is the only vegetable that she would eat. She started having an orange tint to her skin. I asked the doc, and he said that it was from eating to many carrots. But you have to eat a whole bunch of them. This is rare in adults, it is more common in infants.

yes its true that you get an orange tint to your skin because your blood cells eat the orange carrot and they change colours and gives your skin an orange tint

jbreckmk is right......you can indeed change the colour of your skin by eating to many carrots. BUT I don't think the average person could eat that many carrots....it would take an awful lot of them.

There is "some" truth in it, but you would have to eat tons of carrots in one sitting. It is due to the Beta carotein in the carrot.

Theoretically *possible*, I suppose (I recall of a case where two girls who drank ridiculous amounts of the drink 'Sunny Delight' turned orange), but it'd involve more carrots than you could possibly eat.
