Yes, they acceded/became a member on May 2004 (Fifth Enlargement) This comprised the largest number of countries ever admitted at one time: Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

I hope so or we have 3 illegal immigrants living over the road from us, they joined in May 2004 along with Poland and I think Latvia was the other one.

I believe so. They don't use the Euro, though. They use the Crowns. I think now it's just the most Eastern European countries that aren't.
