I don't even play a doctor on tv, but from my experience yes, stress can cause very real physical effects including both of these, not to mention ulcers.

On a first hand basis, I say yes. I recently have gone through a lot of very stressful events. My mother has cancer, my long-time girlfriend dumped me, I got fired and didn't work for 3 months, getting the new job, and recently moving to a new city. About a month ago I became very very sick, for almost no reason seemingly. I went to the doctor and I found out I had a viral infection, what from, no one knows. I had horrible fatigue, no appetite, sore throat so bad I could not swallow, aches, pains and n all over body rash. They thought I had mono, but after only 2 weeks I was better. But the interesting thing I found out was that stress in a definite cause of sickness. When stressed, your body is working harder to do the simplest things, even just pumping blood. This causes fatigue, which in turn makes you more susceptible to illness. Now no two people get the exact same symptoms, but if you feel that you might be stressed, you are. I've found that meditation works very well, light yoga-like stretching and something my doctor called 'the brick', where you sit down, interlock your fingers, and tense up your entire body, hard as a brick... do this for about 20-30 seconds then completely relax. These are all simple things you can try, to help your body naturally release the tension.

Stop worrying and then let us know!

When has worrying solved anything other than make you feel bad, anyway?
