I definately agree with you don't let her watch them. Those movies expose them to things that they will be exposed to later anyways. I am almost 17 and i wasn't allowed to watch pg-13 movies till i was 16. I totally think that 10-12 year olds shouldn't watch pg-13 movies

I have two daughters that age, one is 10, and the other 12. The rule we use in our house is that the girls are not allowed to watch a PG 13 movie until I have seen it first and deem it is appropriate. And then they are only allowed to watch the film with me. You can't shield your kids too much, otherwise they will rebel against you. The key to this issue, just like everything else, is guidance. I let my daughters watch some PG 13 films, but we watch them together, and talk about them. If they have questions about the violence or sex for example, I answer the questions open and honestly. I have been fortunate that my girls have stayed with in my guidelines, but sometimes I have to give in some. You have to pick your battles with kids this age, especially considering how tough adolescence can be these days.

It depends. Most of them are harmless so my 8 and 12 year old have seen many PG-13 movies. I dont know of a whole lot of PG-13 movies with adult content. I wont have my kids live in a bubble.

I think my children can watch any rated movie while I am with them. I want them to know that violence and sex happen. I would much rather my daughter be ten and watching PG-13 movies with me then watching them at 13 without me. I want to be there to help them understand what is going on.

There is no authorized responsibility for ticket persons to make sure youngsters are historic enough to observe PG13 movies. My mothers and fathers began letting me watch them around age 10 or eleven, depending on the movie. I started going to the local drug store with my one friend once we were 11 and had babysitting cash to spend. I did not really go to the store alone until I was 15 or sixteen. It is dangerous to move by myself if you are too young. You can do matters like babysitting, mowing yards, shovelling driveways and different matters across the nearby as soon as you're dependable sufficient to do the job well. As a way to get an authentic job, that you would be able to be as young as 15 for specified jobs (taking graphics at amusement parks, collecting carts in the lot of a grocery retailer) and it requires parental permission. 15 is individual, although. 16 is the average age that areas enable teenagers to work.

Check what the movie is PG-13 for: If it's sexual content, forget it. If it's for brief language or crude humor, she's heard it already at 10 1/2.

I suppose it depends on the movie. A war movie with realistic and historic events is educational and usually not too explicite if its only PG-13. Ratings based on bad language and sex conversations or scenes are inappropriate for kids that age.

First I would like to vent the marketing of movies. For instance Spider-man 2 was rated PG13. Of course the media over exposed this movie and made kids everywhere want to see it. I allow my sons to watch PG13 movies and play games that are rated higher than E. But I respect that other parents do not and when they have friends over I only allow what is age appropriate according to the rating.
