17 is under age drinking and illegal. A parent should punish their kid for any activity they participate in that is illegal so long as that child is still living under their roof and is their responsibility. In this case it is possible the parent could get in trouble for the child drinking.

No it isn't okay to drink 'a little' at the Disco. The patterns that you're establishing now are the ones that you'll be establishing for the rest of your life. Drinking or smoking doesn't make you an adult.
When I was a teen, I smoked. I did it because my friends did and I wanted to look/be cool like them. But the main reason I did it was because I thought that I was getting away with something. It was a form of rebellion against my parents. I knew that they'd hate it, so I did it.
I took up drinking in the military because... everyone else did it. I wanted to fit in, so I drank. Real smart huh? Don't give in to peer pressure. Be 'you'. You know who you are, and you have nothing to prove to anyone else. Wait until you are older, and if you want that occasional drink, then go for it. At 17, you're still growing and your brain is still developing. Why kill off brain cells that you desperately need?
Be smart, be responsible... that's what makes you an adult.

A little is to much and your Mother had a perfect right to punish you, she punishes you because she loves you and is trying to teach you that drinking isn't good for you! When you reach the legal age and want to destroy your body with drinking etc. that is your choice, always remember if you put something in your body, that isn't good for it, you will pay the price!

What is the legal drinking age where you are? If you are under it, you are wrong. Sorry, bone up, and take the punishment like a man and move on.

I suppose it depends on your parents. It is illegal either way but mom my let me drink at my house and took me to parties as long as i called her to pick me up when i was done. That was the 90's so who knows now...being a teenager is harder now.
Good luck

Is it wrong for me to go through a red light even I was doing the speed limit. Wrong is Wrong you are underaged. There are some places that hold parents responsible for the dumb things that their teens decide to do.

We don't know how much "a little" is. Not to mention, you're not an adult, your mother has the right to punish you so long as she doesn't beat you or verbally abuse you.

Yes it is illegal for you to purchase it or for a bartender to provide it. I hope that anyone who buys liquor for minors gets caught and has their licensee to sell revoked. You have to be 21 for a reason.
