There is this guy. Apparently, he has liked me since last May, and he is too shy to ask me out. We have hung out at parties and all that, and then right before school started, we talked about really deep stuff. He was going to ask me out right then, but my mom came and he didn't get the chance. So now, at school, he and I have no classes together except for gym, so we don't get the chance to talk. I sat by him at lunch yesterday, and he moved the minute I sat down. (Ouch) He is shy with this whole girl thing; that's what his best friends say. Well, today, he told his friend that he doesn't like me, and that he likes this other girl... I don't know what to think because he has made up sooo many excuses beforehand.. half my friends say he his shy, the others say to move on. I am a little sad... what should I do? Should I talk to him?

If he doesn't have enough nerve to ask you out then you will have to face that kind of stuff all the time if you hang with him. If he can move away from you at lunch time then he can ask you out if he really likes you. You might want to talk to him, but I don't think you will get any honest answer from him due to what you say about him . The only thing I can think of that might get him started with you is if you do the asking. If he accepts, then you know he likes you, but if he refuses then move on. BTW when and if you do ask him out, make sure you have talked to him several times before you do the asking and drop enough hints to him about you really wanting to go here or there. He is probably just afraid that you dont like him. This may not make any sense but, he may be trying to send a message to you that he doesnt like you anymore so you will think that he really doesnt like you, but he may just think that the two of you cant be together so he is trying not to like you or just forget that he likes you because it is making him sad that you cant be together. I have done something like this a long time ago. Ask him how he feels, but first tell him how you feel so he wont be afraid that if he says he does like you, than you would say that you dont like him at all.
