Depends on your situation. I keep something from nearly every ex...a picture, a note, t-shirt, whatever. It's all boxed up and in storage though. When I get an urge or am moving, I get to look at it and remember...good times and bad. Some things remind me of a beautiful time - young & carefree, happy & safe, in crazy lust & becoming a woman...and other things remind me never to make THAT mistake again. I think remembering and reminders are a good thing. It's your life and you'll want it to look back on it someday. Don't get rid of it if you don't want to, but don't hang on to it if it's making you obsess. Also, if there's someone else's feelings to consider, you should. I have a boyfriend and he certainly doesn't want to stroll down memory lane with me and visit all my exes. So, though I'm not getting the box out of storage and pilfering through it over popcorn while my boyfriend sits nearby, I'm also not getting rid of it. A bottle of wine, a good girlfriend and a lazy Saturday night tripping down the Lane are in my future again, I'm sure.
If it makes you happy - keep it. You have every right.

A photo and some letters. You don't have to remember the past everyday of your life, but an ex is part of your past and a memory, that's all. It's good to look back once in a while

Depends on why you guys broke up.... if you still have the things from them and u broke up because they cheated or ur not over them then its not good to have em. But if you guys left on good terms then its cool.... if its something really nice or just a funny or good memory then its ok to have. As long as your not holding onto the past and dwelling.

I had a realli bad breakup with my ex a few years back, and yes I still have the build-a-bears and pictures. I think its okay, cause you can look back at the goos times the two of you had.

I still have jewelry from my ex of 6 years. It's beautiful and love it so I don't have a problem keeping it and enjoy wearing it. If a new guy comes along and has a problem with me wearing it, my response will be, replace it with something better!!

Just the two kids. No matter what kind of hell he put me through during the relationship, having the kids is worth it.
The rest of the stuff he can use as a suppository.

yeah i have some pics of him and some dirty letters he wrote me
i dunno if its good to hold on to the past if its absolutely over...i guess just to be able to have memories of seeing, touching, holding, etc... some people out there will never be able to experience any of these at all. you should always be thank ful for what relationship you had/have with a person even if it didnt turn out right or how you planned it they will be a part of your life your memories and hopefully you can take the mistakes and experiences into another relationship

You cannot forget a past love. However, don't hang to the past. the surest way to do that is to get rid of the things that your ex gave you... unless it's a big fat diamond ring!!!
