It depends on what u r going to get done, as a professional, i have clients who have spent more to get it corrected than if they had went to a salon to start with, u just gotta know wut u r doing, i have clients who do it themselves and come to me for the cut, theres just so much u gotta know, like when to retouch, not getting it on the rest of hair when u retouch, roots only then it may need to be pulled all the way thru to the ends to freshen up the color, people get fooled alot by the color they see on the box thinking their hair will turn out the same, not always true ... actually very rarely true, semi or demi colors are easy to apply but if you are lightening, be careful, u gotta know which base color to use, like if its gold, red or ash. I normally use a neutral or natural base. But it all depends on the situation.

all the hair dressers at the salons will tell you to go there, but doing it at home works just as well, follow directions on the box. I use Clairol. Others use more expensive brands, always remember to use a conditioner on your hair after you color it. It will keep it softer. And don't do it any more often that it says on the box. So you keep your hair, if you do it too often at a salon the same thing can happen.

It depends. If you have fragile hair or you're doing a drastic change (bleach and redyeing, dramatic colors) it would be best to go to the salon. But things like brown to black, blonde to whatever, red to brown, brown to red do fine with home kits. I personally prefer Feria. Oh, I would avoid at home highlights, they usually turn out bad. And Herbal Essence hair color doesn't work well (at least in my experience). Hope this helps.

The chemical solutions you buy at the store are harsher than the ones that are used in a salon...if you go to a beauty salon supply store and purchase the chemicals, you can do your own hair at home.

when you get the at home kits your not guaranteed to get the results you want. depending on how many different colors you have in your hair it could turn out all wrong opposing to getting it done at the salon they have everything there to make you have the color you want.

You should probably go to a salon if its your first time coloring your hair. But I have done it plenty of time at home and I have always used loreal frost and tip. It just depends on if you are going lighter or darker.

It's probably better to get it done at a salon, although it is more expensive. If you decide to do it at home, try using Loreal (I like Feria) but make SURE you test a strand of your hair first!

it depends on your hair n ur salon. usually, ur salon does it best, but it can be expensive (depending on how much ur getting done n stuff like that). But, if u DO do it at home, u should use Clairol or Herbal Essences (sp?). Hope i helped and good luck!
