My mom brought me some tequilla from mexico and it has the worm in it.. are you suposed to eat the worm when you first open the bottle or when it's gone...

Mezcal it is, and the worm is a real buzz. My favourite Mexican restaurant used to keep all the worms for me in a little bottle of mezcal and whenever I went there, I would sit at the bar and chomp through them, making tourists feel sick. The worms are actually almost pure mescaline and give a real high after 3 or 4.
You can even buy powdered worm to use instead of salt around the rim of margarita glasses.

when you are not drinking tequilla. real tequilla does not have a worm. do not be afraid to spend $40 to $80 on a good bottle of tequilla. at that price you will find a few really good quality respados and anejo which you will find are quite enjoyable to sip. in fact i think i am goig to have a shot right now out of my bottle of cabo. thanks for the reminder

Usually at the end of the bottle but unless you are desperate for a drink then it might take you a whilr to get there. And you might as well be drunk when you finally get that nasty little thing out of the bottle cause i know that is the only way i would eat something like that! and probably not even then.....

there are not any worms in Mexican Tequila
Mezcal has the worm, it is made from a different kind of agave plant, not the blue variety
the story goes that when pouring shots, your supposed to get it in your glass purely by accident, and that would mean good luck for you
you only get the luck if you drink the worm along with the shot
Mezcal doesn't taste like Tequila it tastes like camp fire water, very smokey and very icky
I'd be pretty impressed if someone who ever tasted Mezcal ever asked for a second shot of it EVER

after u get to the bottom of the bottle. then u don't notice u r about to eat a worm.
