Try to leave your hair alone as much as possible. Like cornrows/braids or something will help. Don't get micro braids, they damage your hair. And when getting braids, don't leave them in too long. It is best to leave them in for maybe 2 weeks or so. Maybe a couple days longer.

GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it. Be warned these pills are HUGE and you have to take 2 a day.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health, and is smaller and easier to swallow.
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourishair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results
If you go to www.drugstore.com and search for this product "Nourishair", you can read customer reviews from people who used it, and many of them are African American women who love the product.

I can suggest biotin vitamins. i have been taking them for about 2 weeks i have seen a big difference in my hair. GNC also has some vitamins called NourishHair. check out this link:

Grease your hair everynight with "doo gro" "medicated hair vitalizer", its an anti thinning formula. along with that i also use doo gro, mega thick anti thinning growth lotion. it thickens and strenghtens hair, helps split ends, detangeles....
these products are great because they contain shea butter and beeswax
