first, think if they have dropped any hints. If not, do you know of anythign that they need, or would make thir life easier? if not, think of somethign that you have that has made your life ewasier, even if they don't know about it. Whatever you do...if it is a gift, make sure you include a gift receipt/regular receipt so they can return it. Or, if they don't think it is rude...which most people don't...there is alwasy the trusty heartfelt/funny card with cash or a gift card so they can get whatever they need. Say that you didn't know what to get the couple that has everythign, so you wnated to give them somethign that they can use however they see fit!

What kind of party is it? The only type of party that requres a gift is a wedding shower.

If you are talking about a hostess gift you can bring a bottle of wine or some flowers or a box of chocolates.

You could bring a bottle of champagne and toasting flutes, or you could bring martini glasses. You could also find out if they are already registered somewhere, and bring a gift from their wedding registry.
