I think that it is because we who are Pro life believe in protecting the pre born as a separate individual. People who are Pro Choice may not agree with abortion for themselves but feel a woman can make her own decisions for "her" body.
We believe that the person who is being aborted is not her body but a separate individual with their own DNA,blood supply, motor skills, organs and bodily functions, who happens to be inside another human to grow.
Also, women often develop post abortion syndrome and it is heartbreaking to see. So we want what is best for baby and for mom. I know people who are infertile now because of their abortion. That is so upsetting. They didn't know that could happen.
So basically that is the difference. Persons who are pro choice see it as one individual and Pro Life see the value in both individuals-mother and baby.
It's the old saying "you have to stand for something or you'll fall for anything." If you are not against it then you are in a way for it. Meaning Pro Abortion.
I am not trying to be mean to anyone with my views and I want to be respectful with my answer.I know it is important to stand up for a childs well being so that is what I do by being Pro Life.
Don't lump the radicals who blow up clinics with the rest of us. Most of us are good people who just want to protect mothers and babies.

Pro choice means that you believe the pregnant woman has the choice to have an abortion, which is the same as being pro-abortion. It isn't up to "pro-lifers" to decide what anyone does, but in what way is it a woman's place to decide to kill her baby.

I wonder the same thing. Someone asked me recently how I could be pro-choice without being pro-abortion. It is like this - I support the freedom of choice. There are medical reasons for a woman to get an abortion. Banning abortion is an all or nothing deal and this would take away the right for a woman to protect her own life if it comes to that.
I don't believe is should be used as birth control.
I would never consider it for myself except for a life or death medical decision.
I would never recommend it if someone came to me for advice.
I also feel that whether legal or not, there will be many people wanting it and many people performing it illegally - endangering the health and lives of the women and young girls who seek it out.

The thing that many do not understand is that the view of a pro-life person. They believe that the baby in the womb is a person. So if you say you would never have an abortion, but you feel other people should be able to, means (to a pro life) the same thing as...I don't agree with killing someone, and I would never murder anyone, but if somene wants to kill someone, they should be able to.
Do you understand the main argument between pro-life and pro-choice is simply when does the human life begin? I am sure if pro-choice people thought that life began at conception, they would not agree with abortion. But as pro-lifers do believe life begins at conception, it is simply murder to abort the baby.
Does this make sense?

It's a wording thing. Pro-life used to be called Anti-Abortion, but it didn't sound as nice. Pro Lifers (formerly Anti Abortionists) renamed pro-choice as pro abortion because the sound of it is more vulgar and can stir up more controversy. Just like Used Cars are now pre-owned vehicles. The words give you a different visual. There is a stigma in the wording, but it has the same name. So technically, pro-choice is pro abortion.
It is not up to up to pro lifers to decide what people do with their body/baby/fetus. It is up to them to be one-sided, black and white, in-your-face alarmists incorporating scare tactics into their cause.
There are many people who would not choose to have an abortion, but they feel the option should be available to those who desire one. Again, technically that is being Pro Choice.
The debate over abortion will go on and on and on and what really needs to be happen is making sure unwanted pregnancies do not occur in the first place through education and prevention.

I think that people who are pro-life are, for the most part, pretty religious as well, and because of what their church teaches them the issue is very black and white. A pro-choice person may have a lot of mixed feelings on different aspects of abortion, but in the minds of people who are taught that it is wrong no matter what, pro choice does equal pro abortion.

Because abortion is the first choice at hand for many pro-choice people...
Same way that free-thinkers use to choose atheism, and even openly antireligious ways, or/and free-sex... It's handy and comfortable, it signs clear that you don't choose the same way that "majority" does... Well, that mom does... But now that abortists, atheists and pansexuals are close to become majority, and that most grannys come from hippie and moms from X-generation backgounds... It would be wise to choose someway else.

I see where you are coming from. I think that where I disagree is when it comes to the part where you say it is not up to others what people do with their baby. I say do what you want with your body as long as it does not affect anyone else. In this case it does affect someone else, the baby. If you see someone beating their child would you walk away? I think some people would but others would intervene and try to help the child. I would like to see more people placing their child for adoption instead of ending their life. And for the record I do not conform to a religion but I am spiritual.

I am completely pro-choice up until the moment the girl gets pregnant. At that point she has made a choice. The modern context of pro-choice is NOT giving a woman a choice over her own body - It's giving a woman the choice to destroy another person's body (her baby).

It's a trick they use do make their point. Otherwise they have nothing to put across. See the first answer. It's also a way not to have to use their brains while involving themselves in other people's business , which is NONE of theirs!
I consider 'pro choice' people to be anti freedom and think of them as such!
They are pro choice for their opinions.
