Manners are about making other people comfortable. That never changes.

Some things have changed for the better- like not leaving food on your plate changing to not taking more than you will eat- but most things have stayed the same all these years for a reason.

People who say etiquette rules have changed are most times just lazy or didn't know the reason for the rule in the first place.

Some etiquette mavens have updated, and rightfully so, but for the most part, we need the 'rules' and must maintain some semblance of decorum.

Next time you find an etiquette rule silly or not necessary, before breaking it, think what the rule is intended to do.

Which Victorian rules are we living under? I, for one, can't see a one!

Some things do not change. The essence behind the rules are still there even if the technology is different.
