from a psychological/social approach
it is a new world
a new culture
a new set of rules
a new environment with unknown consequences.

depending on how you take your fears/assumptions/view on the experience. CONSIDER it an experiment or as a social adventure.

you have to fend for yourself now, make your new boundaries, make your new CIRCLE of support, learn to let go of friends that stray and learn to build alliances that last forever. IT IS a place to learn how to set boundaries (boys and annoying/high maintenance people for example), and it is a place to pick up new interests (friends, activities like sports, clubs, areas of studies for college) etc etc. I CAN GO ON.

but it is not a shakey road, not a dangerous one, nor will it EVER be a negative one.

HIGHSCHOOL is a preparation for college/world. and if not college-then work your little heart out is learning the most you can with building relationships with teachers/peers and learn to pick up study skills, learn to find what subjects interest you most and work on skills you are weak on or think you'll need to survive. IF you do not do well in the study aspect, work on it. trial and error. trial and error. we only know what we want when we come accross mistake and people we despise. right?

i hope this helps. whatever your fear is, is normal, might even be common. one way is to try new things. take small steps. ORDER a beef sandwich if you always order turkey. TRY the orange gatorade if you always get the green one. Learn to walk with a little pep if your walk if you like to drag your fight. SMILE at everyone-you're bound to make them smile back-cheer their day up-or even spark up conversation. SMALL STEPs.

always think and approach ANYTHING you do in small steps. that way we can digest and experience our new surroundings and situations. if you have any interest in asking for help...post a question or email me then I"LL send you my email address so you can keep it handy.

i'm a college grad working towards a masters in this social area of work. So, I understand from MY OWN fears and from my experience with other/work/studies etc. Smile. THE unknown is not about the worst but ALSO about the best that comes too. have a good one.

Best place to find help will be schools guidance office. If your school doesn't have any counselors ask your home room teach if they could make time to talk with you. Do you have any older friends that might talk with you. Sounds like you don't have any older brothers or sisters. Discuss what your feeling with your parents or guardian. Most felt some ill ease starting High School, so don't feel embarrassed asking. You'll be surprised how common some of what you feeling is for people starting new stuff, getting use to new building and getting use to new people.

What are you scared of? Not doing well in your studies? A new environment? Perhaps some of your classmates scare you?

Take a deep breath. You'll be alright. Everybody goes through it, and you are not alone.

I have been out of high school for years now. Sometimes I wish I was back.

they don't seem to be quite complicated. If their complicated then you mustn't be taking it interior the first position. AP instructions are merely very tedious. you should make confident you've an excellent variety of diagnosis time so that you'll pass them. they're college aspect for a reason. My journey so a concepts is that, it is going to no longer be complicated. you merely ought to do the paintings! you won't be able to be lazy or procrastinate, you'll merely fall behind and fail. so a concepts doing each and every of the studying and paintings is protecting me heading in the right direction.

It's normal to be scared of High School. Just take it one day at a time, when you feel nervous just take a deep breath and tell yourself that you'll be ok.

We can't help unless you tell us the problem. But HS should be fun, if you are being bullied you need to speak up.
