Yep, guess I missed that question, I'll have to go back and comment =)
And yeah, in my house, we've done away with Thursday, and just call it "THOR'sday" (sound of crashing thunder goes here)

No, we don't. We didn't make up the names for the days of the week; we just want to know what the date is. Acknowledging a god means to affirm your belief that he or she exists and to pay homage to him or her. We can use a calendar named after pagan gods and not worship or acknowledge them.
What about cereal, then? If we eat it, do we acknowledge Ceres, the goddess of grain? What about when we describe sudden irrational fear as panic? Do we then acknowledge the satyr Pan? Your concept of acknowledgement is obviously flawed, and it seems like you just want to say something to nettle the Christians.
Edit:
Oh, I saw the link. Yeah, some parts of the question are stupid, like the part about Jesus splitting time in two. Not all of the question is entirely stupid, though.

Actually, Tyr is Norse, take it from a master of Mythology. If I'm correct Tyr was the one who got his hand bit off by the great dog Fenrir.
Also, I believe Sunday is a translation of the Norse from Bath Day, but I may be wrong.
To those around me, the real point of this question is the link.

having a day of the week named for them doesnt worship them anymore than the year 2006 worships Christ

Praise them! Praise them!--except Mani, the Germanic Moon god from which Monday gets its name. I hate Mondays.

I loved the one girl saying that "OHEMJEE ITS BEFORE TEH COMMON ERA AND COMMON ERA... but we say before Christian era and Christian era HEEHEE."
Goddamn, that made my blood boil. Since when is it the f*cking Christian era? Christians don't even make up the majority of the world's population. They're getting a bit too grabby for my tastes, you know?
