I dont allow my child on here. He is 13 years old and i home school him. He is enrolled in an on line school through the state which is also a public school..He has 7 teachers encluding a homeroom teachers. It is a cam school so he can see his teachers and hear them and they can see and hear him. They have field trips,, meet at the library to do tests. they have principals, councelors, prom, even has gym class but that requires a ymca pass. They even have recess open chat with the teacher as monitor..Graduation..the school is 100% free no fees they pay everything internet bill they supply the computers.and school supplys..he has met students from all across our state..and he can still attend all the functions at the city schools here..so hes not missing out on anything..his grades are even better now then when he was in a city school..like i said before this is a public school but only done on line..

I currently homeschool my 9yo twin girls thru BSDE, (Queensland). They are in Year 5 and just recently did the State exams which were easy.

Whilst overseas for 3 years I Homeschooled 5 of my children thru Correspondence from NZ. This was presented quite differently and you are NOT held back if your work is above the norm'!

There IS a difference in the quality of work curriculi between NZ and Queensland, Australia. If your using the State system there is a considerable difference between the Australian States as well as the criteria for being homeschooled either privately or in the States own curriculum system.

Regardless of all the differences etc it is REALLY GREAT to be part of the education and daily input in to the lives of my kids. They are precious and I want the BEST for them. What teacher in an ordinary school, each year, feels the same for each of my kids????

We homeschool our three children--4th grade, 3rd grade and one in K. We've always homeschooled and love it!!
Homeschooling is fun and not difficult. State requirements vary from state to state. Our state does not require ANY testing at all for homeschooled kids.

I just homeschooled three of my five children for the past four years. I school was great and virtual classes are an excellent joice. They gave each child a computer and the curriculum and books. Your school district has to pay for it. It is worth it if you want to do it. You have to wacth though because the socialization is tough on you kids. You can make many friends but they are all online. My kids are all back in public school because they missed their true friends.
