one last question for the day...

What if Jesus was holding out eternal, everlasting life as a present, and He says "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't be stumbling through the darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Eternal life is worth far more than a new car. I believe Jesus wants to give it to you. Take it from Him - it is free. I took it right out of His hand, and He just replaced it with more for you. What an awesome freebie. Jesus won't condemn what He has set free...

Perfect faith isn't needed to accept this gift. Just a small tiny crumb-size amount is all it takes. Jesus will help with the rest...

Why would I not take anew car? Is something wrong with it?

Eternal life would be fine, if it didn't also require eternal loss of integrity. Even if the Christians are right about god and heaven and the whole shebang, I cannot find it in my heart to praise a supposedly omnipotent being that created this f*cked up world. I will not kneel to a god so perverse as to test an admittedly flawed creation through techniques that not even our newly torture happy government would condone. If what he wanted was perfect faith, he should never have bothered with free will. And if that sends me to hell, at least I'll go with my integrity intact.

Heck yeah I'd take the car. For one thing a car is something real that I can see and touch and for another I really need a car.

As for the eternal life thing, no thanks.

Oh and lay off it will you, this sort of thing doesn't convert anybody, in fact for the majority of us I'd say it just makes us more convinced the we really don't want to be religious.

I wouldn't have many options...take it, and my parents will be happy, thinking they gave me the best gift ever. But then I would keep it locked up in the garage until I need it, and after that I'd put it away again... and I wouldn't feel forced to drive it all the time. After all, once the car is mine, I decide what to do with it.

Yes I would take the car, because it was a gift. And yes I would (already have) accept Jesus into my heart. You have a good message here, but I don't think there is really a question here!

Of course I would! I was given a car for my 16th bday. Not a new car but a car all the same.

Eternal, everlasting life? No thank you...sounds kind of boring. You can have mine.

If Jesus showed up on my doorstep and I had no doubt that it was him and he said that to me, I'd grab it for sure. But he hasn't. He doesn't. He won't. He never has, never did, never will. You imagine he did that to you, but that's why they call it an imagination.
