Yes, it is very complex, but why does that mean that it couldn't have evolved as such over millions of years?

Basically a question referring to intelligent design.

Things that evolve naturally tend to be more complex than things that are designed. For example, a natural lake or river will be very complex with side streams, tributaries, and the way they tend to wind with the landscape. A lake that is created is usually round and very simple. There is none of the complexity in it that's associated with the natural water sources. This is just something that I've noticed, and I think that it's a valid point.

What did the creature developing and eye do in the mean time? I mean if it was supposedly evolving from something else it used prior to sight it would have lost that ability as the eyes were evolving, so basicly it was blind right, short life with predators around don't you think? Wow! How come we didn't develope radar like bats, that's cool huh! We could go around in the dark without bumping into things. NOT.

evolution implies that a being with a certain characteristic out lasted a being with an inferior form of that characteristic. so... that's just retarded that an EYE would cause a being to last longer. c'mon and think about how complex the entire human body is, or how complex all living things are, plants animals bacteria and the like. C'MON!!!

This "intelligent design" thing is starting to get old.

It makes God sound like a fashion expert!

Creation is what the bible says. Isn't it?

Anyway, believe the eye is created by God, evolution or a combination of the two. Whatever makes you happy.

How would the evolving organisms survive if their eyes were underdeveloped?

Evolution depends on mutation (99.99999% detrimental), & natural selection (the best equipped survive).

Underdeveloped organisms wouldn't survive to pass on the mutations needed for evolution to occur.

In short it can be explained by evolution. The eye in humans is far from perfect.
And we don't share the same eye as squids.
And some animals have only light sensing cells.
If you don't use it you loose it. Look and blind cave fish.

It could, and it did. That's the essence of intelligent design: things start simple, and become increasingly complex under the guidance of willful desire and inspiration. I know I'll get at least 2 thumbs down for this opinion ;)

Because only a God could create something as complex as human life; ears to hear, eyes to see, hands to touch, taste buds to taste, feet to walk. He supplies all our needs!

If it had evolved, why do we share the same eye as a squid? The only difference is that they have a larger eye.

If it did evolve, why do so many animals share the same complexity? Wouldn't it have changed per each animal?

Macroevolution just doesn't make sense--micoevolution does.

Evolution is voodoo science, there is no proof to support it, there never was, and there never will be.

To all of you that believe in evolution, you believe by faith, and that makes your evolution your religion.

And Darwin has made a monkey out of you.
