Ok im not an illegal immigrant. Im an australian in USA and have been waiting for a letter from immigration for the past year. I cant work unless i get that letter. I was told by the army to write a really patriotic letter to congress saying how I want to join the army here and fight for this country etc. I need people who have really good imaginative writing skills. - Again the theme to join the army here , and want to speed things up.

Sorry, but the letter wont work! USCIS wont bend the rules for ANYONE. There is no gray when it comes to immigration law, everything is black and white. All congressional offices have immigration liaison's in their offices, dedicated to helping their constituents with legal immigration. What you are proposing to do is really illegal. Simply because you want to serve in the military does not get you legal status, nor will it 'speed' things up.
If this letter your waiting for is for some sort of approval than the same congressional office can help you with a follow up call and find out what is going on with that.

Congress.org is there official web site. you can contact all the congressman there. I've sent several letters to them on Immigration and I even got a Personal reply from one who will be getting my vote.

go rent the movie "Saving Private Ryan", understand that the congress your writing to wouldnt be here if freedom wasnt fought and died for . Understand the cost and you wont need to ask us how to be an American
