If you have a computer with Windows XP installed on it this is a built in feature of the operating system.
Just right click on the Start bar at the bottom of the screen, on that menu that pops up move up to Toolbars, and from there choose the Language toolbar.
In the language toolbar you will find ways of having your computer speaking to you but also how to configure it for speech to text translation. There are a few tutorials you must complete so your computer can learn your voice but once you have it done it is magic. Enjoy!

you more than likely already have that feature on your computer. Im not familiar with the older versions of windows, but i do know that xp has this feature. It is in the language bar, it should be on the bottom of your screen by your clock. You have to do some training before you will be able to use it with word and other programs. Good luck!

The ones you pay for dont even work! It takes much time teaching ANY voice recognition software and then it doesnt work! At best, you might end up paying a couple grand for some voice recognition software that does and then expect to pay another 500 for a special microphone! I have tried a half dozen of them!

Download Microsoft Speech. It's a free program with a crapload of free plugins. Once you get it, dedicate some time to get familiarized with it. It will become a powerful too once you have done all the voice recognition exercises. I use it occasionally, and I have no complaints. Just look for it on microsoft.com. Hope this helps.
