The anonymity of the Internet allows people to post without consequence. I'd bet that not a one of them would have the guts to stand up face to face and say the junk in person when they stood an excellent chance of getting their face re-arranged. Yahoo cannot or will not do anything about this junk even though their guidelines say they will. I did notice that several of "retards" posts have been closed! It is sad that people have to get their jollies at others expense, but that seems to be the way of things these days. Personally, I think if everybody did not post answers to obcene and idiotic questions and started clicking the abuse flag, Yahoo MIGHT do something about it, but I have little hope of that happening. It all comes down to -------if you don't like it, don't read or respond to it.

Ignoring is the best way (and the only way to survive on here). It seems that Answers attracts people who delight in being obnoxious, either because they would never dare to be in real life or because it is just a place where one can come to conduct slanging matches - and some people just love that!
It tends to be more in the Religion and Spirituality section than anywhere else, unfortunately, and I don't think it is representative of the real world at all.

Its just the nature of the human being. We are on Earth, and it was meant to be a place where we could experience negativity. We actually come from Heaven we all go back Home where there is no negativity, when we die. Its great that people want to change the world, but that's never going to happen.

The problem with your question is that it is simplistic. 'Mean' and 'rude' and 'nice' are all value judgements subject to interpretation.
You would have to define your terms and use examples if you really want something like an answer to this incredibly vague question.
If on the other hand you are in fact 12 years old or under as you seem, ignore the above.

Thats how people are, completely different from what you or others think. Some people are just scared of each other and this is lead to rudeness then to more rudeness then to a fight.

It is not natural for a person to be nice. We were not born that way; we have to be thought. It takes a lot of positive reinforcement, molding, shaping and building of character to see the real diamond. But don't loose heart, there are still nice people out there like yourself.

People are increasingly becoming separated from sound principles of happiness. They search for happiness through various distractions, but cannot find it. In this pursuit, they become discouraged, disillusioned, and frustrated with what they see as the injustices of the world. Because they aren't happy, nobody should be happy. Therefore, they are mean.

The rude and mean ones are usually children, aged 14-16 with no parental supervision.

These people who are mean are just here visiting and getting 2 points for every answer even if they don't know the answer to the question being asked.

They don't have to be rude. They just think that being on the internet and being anonymous gives them the right to vent all the nastiness that they could never get away with in real life faced with real people.
