Researchers at the Spokane County Animal Protection Service in Washington say they have isolated the sound of dogs laughing and recorded what they described as dog laughing.

At least one researcher in Nevada believes that dogs emit an exaltation which could be considered a laugh, and that it sounds like one long pant.

Even without that, there's evidence that's been around for years that dogs could laugh ...ever heard of Muttley [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muttley ]

My dog smiles and shows his teeth. He is a Yorkshire Terrier, and this is one of their traits. Sometimes he makes a snorting sound as he smiles to show his pearly whites.

im sure they "laugh" or feel happy but as far as them going haha that was a jolly joke chap...i would have to say no
