YES i think we need to see more things about the transgendered comunity other than real life stories that always end sad with someone dieing.

and i bet they could make a comedy without making the trans comunity look bad

Unfortunately it's deemed inappropriate to portray lgbt people well! Television is the biggest culprit. Look at any soap opera and you will see that gay/lesbian couples cannot live happily, or once they find happiness they leave quickly.
Della & Binni and Simon &Tony in Eastenders were all unhappy in the end of their lives on the square and ended up leaving miserable.
The whole Todd thing on Coronation Street is a prime example of how gay people cannot be happy and cause unhappiness in their wake - he "caused" the death of his own son and again, had to leave. The character of Sean Tulley is gay and single...and quite happy to live his life on The Street that way. If he was to finally meet someone, then you can guarantee he'd have to leave too!
Zoe Tate in Emmerdale has never had a fulfilling relationship and ended up having a nervous breakdown. She then did the quite remarkable thing of having a child with Scott Windsor...I don't know many gay women who would do that - no matter how drunk they were!
As much as I would like to see a positive outcome of a lgbt relationship in television or film, I don't think it could ever happen. There is too much pressure on the government to allow us to become mainstream!

Honey, you can't even find a hollywood movie with an Asian man who has any sexuality and you want POSITIVE transgendered characters.

I'm laughing the sad laugh of a bitter person.

you think hollywood should make movies about positive transgendered characters for the sake of making movies about positive transgendered characters?

---------

you're suggesting that it be done for a political purpose, and not because it would make a particularly entertaining or thought-provoking film.....transsexuals / transgendered people will have their turn in hollywood, all minorities/previously opressed groups do

It's time they produced more movies with decent story lines and less special effects - don't care what the characters are so long as the film is well written.

lol. I have to admit I haven't met many transgendered persons, but the ones I have met were not positive or happy people. Just my personal experience.

Yes except I just saw a video(Iforget the name--maybe transamerica?) that was actually quite entertaining...at least in a positive way...the actress was very good...must have been a hard role to play...
