That is like asking "what is the point of all the flowers in a meadow, if there is no human being there to appreciate them"?

Someday, somebody will discover them. Until that time, the are still cool in their own way, and have their place in the ecosystem.

Same way with sand on the beach, diamonds in a mountainside, and stars in the sky.

Someday, somebody will find them.

I like them already...

have you ever thought that maybe god didnt put the stars there to begin with? that maybe the stars arent little painted dots in the night sky? that maybe, just maybe, they are other celestial bodies like the earth and that they were here long, long, long before your god ever even saw the light of day? think about it. i really dont think the stars were "put there" so you could see the point.

Good question. The bible doesn't say the purpose behind the creation of stars. Sorry!

But according to astronomers (when they're not demoting Pluto to a dwarf planet) they are to what we call the Sun and light the planets around them.

Of course I do realize that you are a wise *** and you are asking this question as a taunt to God believers.

Bless you anyway, may God give you a better sense of humor.

Only the Lord knows everything, we here on earth are not meant to know all the answers to everything. Besides, I don't think you'd like to look up at a black sky of nothing...Stars make is much more interesting and beautiful :)

No point in the stars? Really?

Not only are they beautiful, and have inspired some amazing artwork and poetry, they have been a vital tool for navigation for thousands of years.

Well-most people enjoy them...it's something to see millions of stars in the night sky- and perhaps he did it with the intent of you asking this someday-and then thinking more about him and who he is.....And if you DON'T believe in him; maybe it would get you to start thinking about your future

For the same reason He created everything else - for His glory.

The bible says that nature and its vast splendor was created so that man would be without excuse. For how could man look on the wonders of creation and not realize that there must be a creator.

The stars were at one time used to tell how far one city was from another, and to tell how long it would take to get from one place to another. Before electricity and fire, how do you think people saw in the dark?......... (the millions of stars smarty!)
