My boyfriend wears outdated clothes. He always looks like a blast from the past and at times it is embarassing to be seen with him. Any suggestions on how I can get him to be a better dresser?

Your evil, let him wear what he wants not what you want.

If clothes are more important to you than who he is, break up with him so he can find someone who cares for him.

If you really care about him, then forget about the clothes.

At best, if you're in a very long-term relationship, you could say that you would like to see him in other clothes (give him a shirt as an example -- but only if you're in a serious relationship). If he doesn't care much about clothes, he'll likely be willing to wear things you like in order to make you happy.

But if he's attached to how he dresses, then you'll just have to learn to live with it. If you can't, then set him free.

Oh honey - that was his momma's job. She should have seen to it that he had a decent wardrobe & knew how to wear his clothing. Or - it's a wifes' job. Girlfriends - no. Only thing I can tell you to do is buy a piece at a time that you like seeing him in & hint very broadly when ya'll go out. "why don't you wear that shirt I gave you, baby. You know it turns me on." He won't be able to get it on fast enough! End every suggestion you make with "You know it turns me on." He will do everything you ask! If there's even a slight suggestion that something sexual will come of it, he will do it - believe me. And you practically gotta tell him to wear it; men are not subtle, they don't do "hints" very well at all. Good luck!! Once ya'll are married, then you can choose his wardrobe; until then, you take what you get!!!!! lmao

Don't tell him he is a bad dresser, and don't nag him about getting new/better clothes. Maybe ask him if he wants to go shopping with you and go to a store that has both men's and women's clothes, so it doesn't seem like you are just going for him. Tell him "Oh you would look good in this" then see his reaction. You can't dress him exactly how you want it is his choice, you wouldn't want him to tell you how to dress, would you?

unless hes wearing bell bottoms and a clown wig, dont be so mean buy him some clothes and give them as a gift
its because of people like you that we have to dress how you think its appropriate, he should be able to wear what he wants and if you are too superficial to be seen with him, maybe you dont deserve him

Only 2 ways. Go shopping with him and pick out the clothes or buy him what you think he should wear.

As a gay man, I think you should just start dating gay guys if you want a well-dressed beau. Getting a straight guy to dress well? This is quite a problem. You could take him shopping? Send him clothing catalogs for brands that you think he would like and that would interest him. Straight guys tend to be okay with J.Crew. Just a thought. good luck, gurl.

Ask him if he would be willing to go shopping with you and try on some things that you think he would look good in. If he is unwilling to do so I guess there really isnt too much you can do about it other than buy him stuff yourself and see if he will wear it.

Buy some clothes for him or better yet take him out to buy some newer clothes and have the saleslady tell him how hot he looks in the new threads.

Nominate him for What not to wear. If they pick him, they will fix him. They like getting their hands on a person who wears out dated clothes. Or take him clothes shopping. Buy him some nice things, and maybe he will start buying things that you like with out your help.
