1) Have you ever learned a language outside of your native tongue? If you haven't, learning a language will be hard. Learning over the internet will be ever more difficult if you don't know the first thing about learning a new language.

2) "For free" is such a loose term. If you really want to learn Italian, ask someone who knows it to tutor you. Even better, take a class. If it's "for free" you won't learn much.

To learn italian, as for any language, you need a reason, something you like or are interested in.

Usually the easiest way is something you want to read in the original version: italian poetry, opera librettos, sport or fashion magazines. You can find a lot of this on the net.

How are you going to do this? It takes a long time and practice to learn a language. I've tried to learn Italian, but haven't given it enough time. Good luck.
