I'd go for either the panasonic FX01 or the Fuji F20. Both excellent cameras for a terrific price. Each with their own unique features.
The Panny has OIS and a nice wide 28mm lens. The Fuji, unbeatable high ISO performance for low light/indoor work, and a battery that lasts 580 shots (wow). Both are way up there on the image quality front.

hay check this out I am with verison wireless I paid 250.00 for my camera cell phone which same cell phone is now 79.99. after i bought a digital camera i found out I didn't need it a camera cell phone will solve your problem all I do is take the picture send it to my own email and once it hits my email it automatically becomes ditigal. then all you do is store it where your pictures are so 79.99 or any where you go for a cell phone hope this helps you

i have a jvc mini dv camera it is badass in stores in runs for about 200 i bought mine on ebay for 140 it has an lcd screen special effects it records video as well as still pictures and u can go back and look at your video u recorded and pause and takea still picture of any video u recorded i recomend it its great i loved it --lol i sound like im selling something lol.
