Heaven as being in the sky has been the center of the metaphorical view since the first perception of God's glory.

Heaven isn't literally up there, it's not something you can see.

How do you know? Have you checked every portion of the sky yet to find out if Heaven is actually not up there?

heaven is beyond or imagining, it is farther than the galaxy it's beyond the sky. God lives in heaven and He created the sky, the universe and the galaxy, so beyond all the things He made is God.
